The program

Animal Therapies Ltd (ATL) delivers an animal-assisted mental health outreach and pathways program, an initiative supporting vulnerable and at-risk individuals who feel unable or unsafe engaging with traditional mental health services.

Through safe, trauma-informed human–animal interactions, the program helps participants build trust, feel supported, and take their first steps toward recovery and reconnection.

This vital program is made possible through the generous support of corporate partners, philanthropic grants, and donations from the community.

Young people at risk

Supporting young people at risk, including those with multiple mental health challenges or disabilities.

Those living with chronic illness or disability

Offering outreach support to people with illness or disability that impacts their mental health and wellbeing.

Veterans and their families

Why animal-assisted outreach works

For many people, talk-based therapy can feel overwhelming or unsafe.

Animal-assisted mental health outreach works because it reduces stress, builds emotional safety, and creates connection. This in turn helps people to engage with support, often when other approaches feel too confronting.
