At Woori Yallock Therapy Farm, our Animal Assisted Therapy services provide individualised, goal-focused support for NDIS participants in a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic farm environment. Sessions are delivered by Angela Ashley, a qualified Animal Assisted Therapist and Transpersonal Art Therapist, and are designed to complement participants’ NDIS goals by promoting capacity building, psychosocial wellbeing, and improved functional outcomes.
Participants engage in structured therapeutic activities with our gentle camels, friendly donkeys, mini pony, curious chickens, and affectionate mini pig. These meaningful interactions encourage the development of emotional regulation, self-confidence, communication and social skills, resilience, independence, problem-solving, and positive relationships. Animal-assisted interventions also support participants to reduce anxiety, manage stress, increase self-awareness, and strengthen coping strategies in a calm, natural environment.
Therapy programs are individually tailored to each participant’s goals and abilities and may focus on improving daily living skills, community participation, emotional wellbeing, interpersonal relationships, self-regulation, and confidence in everyday situations. Sessions incorporate evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, creative expression, mindfulness, and purposeful interactions with animals to support long-term personal growth and increased independence.
Woori Yallock Therapy Farm works collaboratively with participants, families, support coordinators, plan managers, and allied health professionals to ensure therapy aligns with NDIS plans and identified goals. Progress can be monitored through measurable functional outcomes, helping participants build the skills, confidence, and emotional resilience needed to participate more independently in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
