Over 65% of those ATL assists are young people under 24

Monday, 26 January 2026

Jimmie 15, and his sister Blossom 12, have been in and out of care for most of their young lives.

Both struggled with escalating behavioural issues, and their foster mum, in desperation, asked ATL
for help. After a program of fully funded animal-assisted therapy sessions, both young people are
now on track to living their lives to the fullest.

Over 60% of those people ATL assists, are children, teenagers and young people under the age of 25.
Some live with multiple mental health conditions and/or illness. ATL assists trouble youth, those with
behavioural issues and/or are disadvantaged learners.
