Barefoot Therapists is a multi-disciplinary Team employing a team of 23 amazing people,  who deliver services at our Child & Family Centre, and run programs for Adults and Children at Gadara Farm. All our therapists are fully qualified and registered with a national professional body such as AHPRA. Additionally, we are trained in providing our services including animals in a Farm-Based setting, which is a therapeutic and safe environment we have created for our community.

You can choose from a range of professionals who all have clinical expertise and offer this in an organic, holistic and helpful way. There are options Animal Assisted Therapy at the farm, or more species specific programs such as Equine Assisted Services. Included in our team are the following:

  • Counsellors – Animal & Equine Assisted Therapy
  • Occupational Therapists – Animal & Equine Assisted Therapy
  • Teachers – Animal & Equine Assisted Learning & Tutoring
  • Speech Pathologists – Animal Assisted Therapy
  • Allied Health Professionals – All programs run under the guidance of one of the therapists.

Funding options include Private, NFP/Charitable, NDIS, Medicare EPC – (OT & Speech) Medicare Better Access To Mental Health (OT only).

  • Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) delivered by a registered health professional with education and specialized expertise within the scope of practice of his/her profession.
  • Animal-Assisted Learning (AAL) which incorporates animals and a facilitator within a structured training program to assist an individual or a group to achieve predetermined learning outcomes.
